Journals > Copying or Reversing a Journal
This article shows you how to use the copy or reverse journal functionality in WorkBook.
Copy a Journal - If you’re entering the same information as a previous journal.
Reverse a Journal - to remedy a posted journal that’s been entered incorrectly, or simply moving amounts back to the original accounts in a different period.

COPYING A JOURNAL
Go to finance & administration module > general ledger sub-menu > journals
In the list tab > use the search field or filters to find the journal that you want to copy
Select on the journal line > click the reverse/copy journal button
In the create copy/reverse journal pop-up > complete the following options

| We recommend using the automatic no. as entering your own could change the sequencing going forward |

| Optional The new journal may require posting into a date different to the original copied journal. If so, a new date should be entered. |
New journal type |

Click ok
Your new journal will appear in the journal list
Click on the journal entry to make any required edits and post as usual.
REVERSING A JOURNAL
Go to finance & administration module > general ledger sub-menu > journals
In the list tab > use the search field or filters to find the journal that you want to reverse
Select on the journal line > click the reverse/copy journal button
In the create copy/reverse journal pop-up > complete the following options

Your new journal will appear in the journal list
Click on the journal entry to see that all line items are reversed
Make any edits as required > and post as usual
