When entering journals in WorkBook, you can categorise the type of journal you’re entering which will make it easier to search for previous entries.

JOURNAL TYPES

These are the main options in WorkBook however, there is an option for your company to set up different types if required.

Daily

This is used for your bank reconciliation items that aren’t covered by the other options. E.g. bank fees, finance entries

Salaries

All your salary entries

Month End

Any entries that are required to make month end adjustments

Receipts

Debtor payments

Payments

Creditor payments

Tip: In the filter panel of Journals you can search by Journal type


SELECTING YOUR JOURNAL TYPE

  • Go to the finance & administration module > general ledger sub-menu > journals

  • In the list tab > click the create new button

  • In the pop up window, select the journal type that matches what you’re entering

  • Click ok
