Allocate Resources > Group Scheduling Resources

A group scheduling resource is a resource that is only used for scheduling. It groups employees by position and combines their capacity to give an accurate view of the available hours when building out a schedule and booking resources to tasks.

Group scheduling resources don’t show absence of any of the linked named resources.

Group scheduling resources are created in the resources module and are usually controlled by a system administrator, designated role(s) or person(s) within your agency.

ALLOCATE GROUP SCHEDULING RESOURCES TO TASKS

Group Resources can be used to determine both cost and capacity, without having to select individuals.

  • In the jobs module > tasks sub-menu > go to the tasks tab

  • Select the task > click on the booked resources button – a resource panel appears in the bottom of section of the screen

  • In the resource column > add the group resource/s to the task

  • In the booking field, add the number of hours required

  • Repeat to add more resources to that task

  • Then repeat for all tasks on the timeline
