Jobs > Create a Non-Billable Job

There are a number of reasons why you may need to create non-billable jobs in WorkBook. By default, internal jobs and jobs created against client type ‘prospect’ will automatically default to ‘non-billable’, and jobs created against client type ‘client’ will default to ‘billable’.

User permissions may restrict access to create non-billable jobs to certain access roles.

NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY > CURRENT CLIENTS

When a new business opportunity, e.g. pitch work, arises for an existing/current client it makes sense to track time and costs in a non-billable job.

Follow the instructions in Jobs > Create a Job however make the following modifications:

  • Create the job under the correct client but set it to non-billable

  • All time should be logged to this job to keep track of how much time was spent on the new business opportunity

These steps could also work for pro bono work for existing clients

  • Create a non-billable job under the client “New Business”
