Custom Translation > Import and Export Translation

A custom translation can be exported from one system and import into the other. This is helpful when you want to test the custom translation view from a test system before deploying it into your production system.

To use the custom translations, you need to have access to settings that is set up under employee cross-company access, and be an advanced user with the appropriate access rights.

Please contact your WorkBook administrator if you can’t see this menu. System Administrators access to this menu by default.

A custom translation can be done for an existing language or by enabling a new language. Refer to this article to learn how to enable a new language for custom translation Global System Settings > Languages

IMPORT AND EXPORT CUSTOM TRANSLATION

Export Custom Translation

  • Go to settings module > advanced tools > custom translation

  • Select the language that you would like to export (1)

  • Click the export button (2)

  • WorkBook will generate a unique ID that can be used for importing into the other systems

  • Copy this unique ID to use later when running the import

  • Click ok

This ID cannot be retrieved again once the dialog is closed. You will need to generate a new ID instead.

 

Import Custom Translation

  • In the destination system, go to settings module > advanced tools > custom translation

  • Click the import button to start importing data.

  • A pop-up window will be shown allowing you to enter the unique ID that is generated from the source system

  • Paste the copied unique ID into the text box and

  • Click ok to confirm
