Tasks > Create Schedule from a Template

Templates in WorkBook are a great way of maintaining consistency across similar or regular occurring projects and save time by providing you with a starting point to build on. For example, if you deliver regular types of work for clients, e.g. website builds, you can create a schedule from a template to use over and over again. Schedule templates are used to import a set of phases, tasks and durations, booked resources and hours.

CREATE SCHEDULE FROM TEMPLATE

  • In the jobs list > select the job

  • Click on the tasks icon

  • In either the settings or tasks tab > click the copy schedule data button

  • Select insert a schedule from a template

  • In the insert schedule from a template pop-up complete the following:

  1. Select the desired template

  2. Select and enter a new start date

  3. Check/uncheck the applicable resource booking options you want to carry into your new schedule.

  • If there are tasks on the template that are not required for this schedule, then you can uncheck them

  • Click OK

  • Once the schedule has been imported, go to the phases tab > and delete the default phase WorkBook automatically created

  • Go to the tasks tab > select the filter > and check the show schedule total price box

  • As you add resources and allocate hours to tasks, you will be able to see the total sales value of the schedule

Continue on to Allocate Resources
