Storage Providers > Azure Storage

Setting up Azure storage in WorkBook is not a typical installation, as Azure does not support directories. Deltek WorkBook will therefore upload a file named “WorkBookFolder.File“ to support directories. This file will not be visible from the interface and will not interfere with the installation.

You need system administration rights to setup storage providers in WorkBook.

ON THIS PAGE YOU WILL FIND:

REQUIREMENTS TO INSTALL AZURE

  • Active Azure subscription

  • A storage Account Name

  • Storage credentials

  • A blob container

INSTALLATION & CONFIGURATION

Within WorkBook navigate to:

  • Settings > Folders, reports & documents > Storage and folders

  • Select the 3rd tab ‘Storage provider

  • Create a new storage provider using the “add entry” icon

  • Select type “Azure Blob Storage Provider” from the dropdown menu (as shown in the image below)

In the bottom of the view fill out the following details:

  • Account Name (Blob storage account name)

  • Key (access key)

  • RootPath (Name of the container)

  • Use HTTPS (Either True or False as value)

If you are not sure where to gather the information to complete the above, refer to troubleshooting below.

TESTING

After completing the information gathered from Azure, you’re able to test the solution to make sure the connection is established.

  • Test the connection by clicking the test storage provider icon

TROUBLESHOOTING

WHERE DO I FIND MY AZURE INFORMATION?

WHERE DO I FIND MY AZURE INFORMATION?

You can find the required Azure information by navigating to your administrator Azure portal. This is usually accessed via portal.azure.com

Account name and key can be found under the menu point on the left: settings > access keys. We don’t recommend a specific key, but using key1 won’t hurt.

Use the show key feature to get the key (the connection string doesn’t matter).

WHAT IS ROOTPATH?

If you have multiple blob storage containers you’re able to select a default entry point for the solution. We recommend that you select the highest possible level, that is required for the agency.

You can either connect it to an existing container or, create a new one. We recommend you create a new container for WorkBook.

You can find your containers under blob service > containers.

USE HTTPS?

Using a secure communication method is always recommended.

To see if your Azure account is running in a secure or insecure state, go to: settings > configuration > secure transfer required field.

MY TEST CONNECTION FAILS

If your testing results fail in WorkBook it might be due to incorrect setup, please revisit the options above. If you are still stuck, feel free to contact our support team directly. We will be happy to help you move forward.

EXAMPLE TEST DATA

This screenshot is an example of the test that was performed by our team and can be used as a reference to help you complete the relevant fields.

NOTHING SHOWS UP IN THE BOTTOM GRID

When you create a new storage provider the bottom grid might not update instantly. If you don’t see anything, please either refresh the page or navigate to a different storage provider and back again. This will refresh the grid and show the settings for it.
