GL > Chart of Accounts Summary

Chart of accounts lists your full chart of accounts, allows you to filter by date and shows you the balance accordingly. You are able to drill down on accounts and their transactions in this area.

In WorkBook the chart of accounts is created and maintained via the finance and administration module > general ledger.

Select an account and then click on account statement tab to review all of the transactions that make up the balance within the date range you have selected.

Select the change log tab to review a summary of all changes made to the account you have selected.

In the general ledger balance view, you will be reviewing all accounts, the account number, the account type (operating, balance sheet, header or sum from) and the name. For ‘sum from’ accounts you will also see the account that is forming the sum from calculation.

The credit or debit columns will display the sum of transactions (per operating account) within the financial period you have selected.

For balance sheet accounts, the balance will be based upon the total balance at the end date you have selected.

In the drop down you can change the menu to:
Setup all settings - see more details below
Translations grid - this allows you to translate the COA into another language for financial reporting purposes.

In the drop down menu setup - all settings you can view your COA setup as well as setup your account defaults.

The chart of accounts sidebar allows you to amend details on particular accounts within the COA. To make any changes select an account > click the sidebar icon.

In the account settings tab you can make general changes to the account e.g. account number, account name, account type etc.

The dimension settings allows you to add dimensions to the account.

Here you can set finance account approvers on the account.

The account name translations tab allows you translate the account name into another language for financial reporting purposes.

The finance account period balance allows you to see the balance of the account at a given date with the financial period.
