The update language layer lookup table with custom translations button updates the language layer you have selected with the custom translations you have made

The export chosen custom translation table button allows you to export your selected Language out of WorkBook and import to another WorkBook system. (e.g. export language from Test to Production system).

Once exported, WorkBook will generate a unique ID that can be used to import into the other system. Refer to the next menu on how to import language.

This ID can’t be retrieved again once the dialog is closed. You will need to generate a new ID instead.

The import translations from an external source button allows you to import translations from another WorkBook system such as a test environment.

A pop-up window will be shown when clicking on this button allowing you to enter the unique ID that is generated from the source system (refer to the export functionality above)

The language field allows you to select the system language that you wish to translate. The drop down contains a list of the default languages in WorkBook. However, you can add more via settings > global settings > languages.

If attempting custom translations, it is important to know what language your system is your system default.

The object field allows you to filter custom translations based on the following object types:

  • Messages

  • Report Caption

  • List

  • Report Parameters

  • DevXpressReport

  • Silverlight Menu

  • Touch version

The status field allows you to filter custom translations based on the following statuses:

  • View all

  • Is not translated

  • OK

  • Source has changed

  • Do Check

  • System translation

  • Auto translation

Use the null check box to hide sources with custom translations from the custom translation screen

Use the search grid field to enter a keyword associated with the custom translation you wish to make

Use the copy source to translation button to copy the source text to the translation field. This is helpful when you want to change only a small part of a long message.
